Curriculum Vitae
Prof. Dr. Axel Bialek completed an apprenticeship in banking before he studied economics at Westfälische Wilhelms University in Münster between 1988 and 1993. Afterwards there he got a Ph.D with his doctoral dissertation „Prospects of cooperatives as organisational entities“. He relies on more than 20 years of professional experience in medium-sized companies as well as in globally operating corporate groups in the segments consumer goods, logistics and industrial services.
In 1995 Axel Bialek started his career in international acting companies in the branded products environment (FMCG Food) where he hold various management positions in Sales and Marketing. Amongst others he took responsibility for business development, commercial strategy and performance management, initially within D-A-CH region and followed on European level. In 2009 he moved into maritime logistics and served for worldwide targeted shipping companies where he was in charge of organizational effectiveness, information management and business process improvements - lastly as Managing Director globally responsible for business administration, organization and infrastructure. As of 2014 Axel Bialek became partner of an international consulting company for cost management and process optimization.
In 2016 he was appointed as professor for General Management in particular International Human Resources and Business Development at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration. Previously Axel Bialek was visiting lecturer at the Universities of Applied Sciences in Münster and in Bremen.

Focus Human Resource Management
The focus Human Resource Management prepares students for future roles in the field of HRM as well as General Management. Transfer of knowledge into practice and building-up professional competences take place via project work within the context of corporate partners like corporations, organisations or institutions. This provides a base for starting a career in the area of HRM within industrial enterprises or the service sector as well as pursuing a master study programme focussing on Human Resources.
The focus offers a mix of presentations, business simulations, case studies, experimental exercises, guest lecturers, and projects with corporate partner.
Students who want to enrol in an English-taught focus need to demonstrate a study semester abroad or an internship abroad. You cannot enrol in the corresponding German TWIN module if you participate in this focus: Personalmanagement (BBW).
