Approach

• Development of a classification system and a concept for the component designation, taking into account the relevant standards and terminologies
• Subdivision into standard parts/purchase parts, semi-finished products, assemblies and finished products
• Consideration of the option of a later electronic procurement
• Customizing the Classification System in SAP R/3, Module MM
• Conversion of material master data using the developed classification system
• Cleaning of the current material master; elimination of redundancies
