The client and initiator of the Green City Plan is the City of Würzburg.
The City of Würzburg receives 354,000 euros in funding from the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure for the preparation of the "Green City Würzburg" master plan.

In addition to the city's internal departments, the Technical University of Munich, Siemens and the Munich office "Green City Project" are involved in the Green City Plan Würzburg project. They are responsible for the remaining sub-areas.
